Sanding Rust
Remove rust using the 400-grit sandpaper that comes in our Sandpaper Pack or with a wire brush.
Sanding Basecoat
- To remove imperfections from the basecoat, use 1000 grit wet and dry sandpaper. Wet sand the area thoroughly with plenty of water to achieve a smooth finish.
- Optionally, apply a rubbing compound, also known as cutting creme, to enhance the smoothness without dulling the surrounding paint finish. This method is especially effective for blending the repair area seamlessly with the existing paint.
